Today the world of technology is being introduced into all areas of life. Smart vehicle management is a new technological step that is very useful and essential in people’s lives. With that in mind, so many large corporations try to thrive in this field.
In the past twenty years, people have experienced a rapid development of smartphones; over the next twenty year, they may expect the same situation in the automotive sector.
This article focuses on the possibility to create a mobile app for smart vehicle management.
There are more than a billion cars in the world nowadays, a third of which is used for business purposes, and only 2% of them are permanently connected and tracked online.
People became accustomed to using smartphones all day. Since the introduction of smartphones, automakers have caught up with the introduction of similar useful electronics on the dashboards of new models.
However, even the latest car models are struggling with slower development and production. Drivers find their phone's navigation apps more useful and easier to be updated than the apps from their dashboard.
The main point is to provide a consistent application that can hold all the useful services and make them available to users.
Sometimes, while driving a modern car, people experience a complex navigation system (certainly not an option for people with money) with too many options from complex menus; they are over-complicated and unintuitive to the point that a pilot license is required to operate them. Thus, instead of keeping an eye on the road as a driver should be doing, one divided his time between gazing at the screen and fighting the robotic woman's voice coming from the console.
Android as the dominant mobile operating system has been used as the foundation for a number of car entertainment systems, but the initiative will see the operating system embedded into the car's dashboard. Today, top-of-the-line "smart car" solutions like AndroidAuto or CarPlay do nothing more than add an extra layer so that the driver can access the same features that we already have access to.
In other words, AndroidAuto and CarPlay are not really the specified operating systems in the field, but driver-oriented apps that create a reflection of their phone apps.
The problem presented in the article concerns selected aspects of the process of creating a unique mobile application, called VuGo, for smart vehicle management and control.
VuGo App is written in modern language for Android and iOS devices to manage communication between cars and mobile devices. Moreover, VuGo application has been extended to include different services such as car care services, parking management and many other utilities that are gradually being developed, especially the vehicle identification feature (via a vehicle’s owner identity).
Nowadays, every smartphone user has the ability to manage home devices, work appointments and the like at any time. People can not imagine that these features can extend to vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, boats, ships, and even airplanes.
The general idea of smart car management is to bring the power of our smartphones into the relatively stupid nature of in-car infotainment. Car multimedia systems often have only few features. Furthermore, this type of system is quite new and is generally not available for most cars.
Some car and audio manufacturers try to create a mirror that reflects between car multimedia and smartphones. Unfortunately, there are no rules for standardizing this type of operation, so most solutions are inadequate.
For years, the car's center console has been dominated by "infotainment" systems, designed to control everything from music, navigation to climate systems. Even though they've gotten better over the years, these systems are still boycotted with confusing interfaces, slow responses, and too many options. Therefore, the best in-car infotainment and navigation systems are often the smartphones in our pockets.
A smart car management application integrates the latest operating systems into vehicles. These are simply the familiar advantages of mobile phones applied to our vehicles. Today, thanks to smartphones, we can get closer to many different fields.
Smart car management applications will be a comfortable link between a vehicle and its user. Furthermore, this built-in type will help with car diagnostics, detecting broken parts, and more. The digital dashboard has long included Bluetooth or smartphone docking, allowing drivers to make hands-free calls or play music stored on their phones.
